The ETS 1G 26" x 7" Street kit is designed exclusively for street driven cars. This unit is designed to give the highest performance possible while still retaining the factory crash beam and allowing good ambient airflow to the radiator. The core size of 26" (33" overall) fills the whole grill with core for a killer look and ultimate performance. Because of the length and efficiency of the core the air temps at the intake manifold will drop from over 200 degrees (stock IC) to about 115-130 degrees on warm days. This cool air eliminates knock in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears and allows the boost to be turned up as high as 22psi on pump gas. Without the front mount, the ECU will retard ignition timing when it picks up knock. If your DSM seems to go "flat" in the upper rpm range or in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gears, it is likely detonating (knocking). This kit will eliminate knock on a properly tuned vehicle.
The quality of this kit is unsurpassed. All of the piping is mandrel bent, beaded and powdercoated. The ETS silicone couplers have four layers of reinforcement and the T-Bolt clamps will not blow off (even at 35 psi) if properly tightened down. As with all short route kits, this kit will require enlarging the "D" shaped holes on each side of the radiator, and the power steering cooler will need to be removed. In over 1000 kits sold, we have never had a power steering issue as a result of its removal. Installation is quick and easy and full instructions are included.
