Installed the ets 6466 kit on my 2018 wrx. I hit fueling issues with my IBR secondary injection controller and now I have to properly manage my fuel with a Motec ECU. ETS did a great job, IBR not so much.
Ordered a front mount intercooler as well as a turbo kit w/ 6266, and I was far from disappointed! Everything came in on time, and the craftsmanship was superb. The shop that installed everything on my car even complimented ETS on how well everything fit together. Will continue to use ETS parts as well as recommend them to anyone and everyone.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the parts so far, let us know how the tune goes!
Installed the 5858 kit, ETS fmic, and supporting mods on a bone stock 2016 wrx motor. The power is amazing, couldn’t be any happier, made 561whp/554wtq on a dyno jet. All quality is top notch, and the ETS crew went above and beyond, always answered the phone for any questions that came up. I wouldn’t want to buy from anyone else.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Is there any way to use a Garrett turbo instead of percission?
At this time we only offer PTE turbochargers for the 2015+ WRX Turbo Kit. We have a wide range of options available from 55mm to 68mm.
Do you have any sort of installation instructions for the turbo kit?
Send us an email to email@example.com and we can foward you pictures of a 2015+ WRX Install to help guide you.
Do you need a maf extension for this turbo kit?
Yes, you will need the MAF extension harness. We do include one with the turbo kit intake, so need to buy an additional one if you are purchasing a turbo kit intake.
Do you sell the turbo kit for the FA20DIT without the turbo?
We do not. This kit is built in a master assembly and requires all of the components to be built together to ensure proper clearances and fitment.
Will this fit a automatic cvt 2015 wrx
We have not test fit our turbo kit downpipe on a CVT vehicle, so we couldn't say with 100% certainty, but our standard downpipe is not compatible with the CVT Model.
Will this bolt up to a invidia r400 exhaust?
Yes, we designed our turbo kit downpipe to terminate in the factory location, so any exhaust system that works with the factory downpipe will work with our turbo kit.
Is the handmade sump box a new oil pan for the engine itself? Also, when you order the ETS FMIC do you need to add the optional Tial BOV flange to the piping?
The handmade sump box goes directly under the turbocharger. The factory oil pan on the engine remains the same. We recommend an upgraded blow off valve as the factory blow off valve leaks from the factory. Most customers run a recirculated blow off valve if running the factory MAF sensor. If you have converted to speed density then you can run a blow off valve that vents to the atmosphere. We highly recommend checking in with your tuner before purchasing a blow off valve.
With the 6466 kit, what sizing is the hot side and cold side? Also what is the A/R, and T3, or T4? Thank you
We recommend using a Ported S-Cover for the compressor cover (4.0" inlet w/ 2.5" outlet) and a T3 Size vband in/out .82 A/R turbine housing.
Will this work with the full ETS front mount intercooler kit with 4” intercooler and would the down pipe fit with the ETS single exhaust cat back system that I already have
Yes it will bolt up directly to our FMIC kit.
It will bolt up to our catback exhaust.
I already have an ets front mount intercooler, Cobb downpipe, and Grimmspeed intake. Do you guys offer the turbo just buy itself without the whole kit?
The turbo would not work with your current components. You need a different downpipe, intake, manifold etc. Everything in the kit is needed since turbo placement and flanges are different from stock.
Hey guys ! I’m looking to get around 400 hp reliably on a Stock motor on 93 (we don’t have e85 close by) which kit do you recommend with a quick spool? I’ve been reading the questions and I’m assuming the 5558?
The 5558 Gen 2 would be the quickest spooling 400WHP capable turbo option we offer.
Need to know what turbo kit to purchase, I have a 2020 Subaru wrx with the fa20 motor what kit can the motor handle it’s my daily driver
We recommend running a PT5858 if you plan on sticking with stock motor. I personally ran this setup on my 15 WRX and it was awesome on the street. Lots more top end power and spool wasn't that bad.
I’m trying to hit 450-500hp what would be a good size turbo I’m I got a stage two set up already . Was try to figure it out .
The 5558 Gen 2 is completely capable of making that power.
If I wanted to upgrade my turbo down the line for more power would I need to buy a new kit? or can I just swap out the current turbo for a bigger one?
It is as easy as swapping out the turbo for a bigger one.
What supporting mods do I need for the PT5858 Turbo Kit?
It really depends on how hard you want to push it. We recommend an ETS front mount intercooler, ETS turbo kit w/ intake, ETS catback exhaust system, Drop In Fuel Pump, Cobb accessport and a Protune for stock motor. If you plan on pushing the car hard you will need a built motor.
If I already have your ETS intake do I just put no for intake kit and air box? Or is it a different piping because the turbo is bigger? Thanks.
Our turbo kit intake is different and the stock turbo intake does not fit.
Im getting a built block and would like a turbo that can handle a conservative tune at 450 for daily driving, is that within the efficiency range of the 5858 or should i go with a bigger turbo?
5558 is perfect for that power goal!
Which turbo would be best for the stockish (downpipe, tgv,egr deletes, and a tune) with reliable hp gains? Then in the future be able to go on a built block for more power. Looking at 550-600 down the road
We recommend running a Precision 6062 Turbocharger. The 6062 provides quick spool, good transient response between gears with the ability to make over 600whp with a built block.
Will the COBB big sf intake work with this kit?
Not without modification. You must run our intake or make something custom with this turbo kit.
Is the main difference between these kits essentially just the size of the turbo? And im looking to make around 400 hp in my stock 2017 wrx, which kit would work best for me?
That is correct.
The 5558 Gen 2 would be the best option for 400hp.
How much would the ets turbo kit be provided I already have a turbo?
We don't offer this kit without the turbo because the compressor cover has to be modified to fit here.
Trying to decide between the 5858 and the 5558. Which has faster spool? Thanks in advance!
The smaller 5558 will spool faster.
Will this fit with the stock fa20 engine on the 2017 Subaru wrx
Yes, it will.
Will I be able to hook this up to a stock exhaust?
Yes, you could. It would require a 3" downpipe to stock catback adapter though.
Are there any options available for recirculating the ewg gasses?
There is not, though customers have modified our kit to make it work.
I have 2 questions for you guys. 1) I have your fmic and does your turbo kit mount nicely up to it or will I need different piping and I have a grimmspeed downpipe will your turbos fit up nicely to that? And 2) I currently make 420whp and 440tq with stock turbo but stage 3 IAG built block and I'm looking for a turbo kit that would still keep a relatively low spool time but still increase my numbers a good amount. (My end goal for the car is 500ish whp and tq)
I would rock a 5558 and our turbokit fits with our IC kit!
Do you support the 2020 WRX?
What the wastegate spring pressure/color that’s comes with the 5858 kit
We include 1.4 Bar wastegates in the kit. It includes a white (.6 Bar), blue (.5 Bar) and green(.3 Bar) spring.
Can I use this kit on a cvt transmission?
Everything about the kit will fit minus the downpipe. The downpipe has a different bracket and would require some custom work to be made to fit.
what other mods are needed to support this kit? Or can you just slap it on a stock sti?
This is for a WRX only. It does not fit an STI.
You can run this kit on a stock car if you make a custom pipe from the turbo kit to the factory TMIC.
If you want a complete bolt on solution we recommend getting our front mount intercooler kit as well.
Is a front FMIC necessary? Or would I be able to use a TMIC?
What is the power goal for your car?
I would strongly strongly suggest an FMIC in 90% of situations.
Would I have to use the ets fmic or could I use a different fmic
You could use a different cooler, but our hotside piping is needed to make this work.
can i get your ewg headers seperate from this kit?
Unfortunately we don't sell these headers separate as they only work with our turbo kit.
Hiya which turbo kit would you recommend for 600hp fly wheel on 98 octane fuel
A 6266 kit will make that power. A 6466 will do this as well with a bit of room to grow.
May i get phone number to call for exact parts i need
Sure! Give us a call at 360-896-3000 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
If I wanted to make 600 hp, what would be the best kit for my 2017 wrx and what would be the cost?
The 6062 gen 2 turbo option would be the best turbo choice for that power.
Which kit gives me the most Horsepower?
The 6466 and the 6766 will make around the same power. I recommend the 6466.
I am looking to make 400+ hp. Which kit do I need without upgrading engine components?
The 5558 gen 2 turbo will meet your goals.
I already have your ETS downpipe. Is it possible to order the whole kit without the downpipe? If so, how much would it cost then?
The downpipe is needed because the turbo kit downpipe is different. The downpipe for your stock turbo will not work.
What type of downpipe does this turbo kit have and can I put any exhaust system on it?
It has our own ETS downpipe made here in house. It will work with any exhaust that uses factory routing.
Will this fit a 2015 wrx cvt?
Everything about the kit fits except the downpipe bracket. It could be made to work with some fab work though.
What are all the parts that this turbo kit have?
Precision Ball Bearing Turbocharger Vband Inlet/Outlet Turbine Housing Tubular manifold Twin 38mm wastegates (optimal boost control) Twin dump tubes Downpipe Oil feed and return Hardware and Clamps Optional Intake Adapter (if selected from the drop down menus)
Im looking to make around 400 wheel horsepower on my 2016 wrx and i am not sure which turbo would be able to get me there and still be reliable. I also do not want to get to large of a turbo.
PTE5558 Gen II would be perfect for that.
None of them list the HP threshold. Can you please specify on every model number?
An easier way to do this is reaching out to us with a horsepower goal, and we can turn you onto the correct turbo for your needs.
What the max hp for this kit ? Whats the max the a wrx transmission stock can handle l?
We can do up to a 6870 turbo and then the kit would be 900+ capable.
I know you say intake is different is the box different?
The airbox is the same
If I already have the intake kit for the stock turbo can I skip that option for the turbo kit?
It will not, the inlet on a bigger turbo is much larger than a stock turbo.
How is the ground clearance in comparison to stock? I get that the ewg dump tubes hang down, but does the turbo pan and headers sit lower? Thanks.
It shouldn't have any impact on ground clearance really, the turbo isn't the lowest point on the bottom of the car. We were even able to reinstall our factory undertray once we had cut some holes for the dump tubes.
Does this kit come with the charge pipes? I can't find any mention of that anywhere on here.
This turbo kit comes with a replacement compressor outlet pipe that mates up with an existing ETS FMIC kit, but may not line up with another manufacturer's FMIC piping.
