Best TMIC on the market! Extreme Turbo Systems has designed a direct bolt on top mount intercooler for the 04-07 Subaru STI. This intercooler features a large 19x7x4 core with 31 charge rows! Most competitor intercoolers have between 24-25 charge rows. By having 31 charge rows our intercooler has 62 heat transfers vs our competitors 48 heat transfer place which results in a greater heat transfer area. This core is designed specifically for the 2004-2007 Subaru STI this is not an off the shelf core. Unlike our competitor's intercooler, we require no modifications to the a/c line that run behind the intercooler. The intercooler also uses studs to mount the blow off valve instead of bolts, this means no stripping out the holes when over tightened. This intercooler has been designed for maximum performance.
Cast end tanks don't anodize perfectly even and will have discolored areas.

Purchased this for my 05 STI and couldn't be happier with this product. Very well built! Fits in just like the stock intercooler. Excellent TMIC setup. This is in our SF Forester Swapped with a JDM EJ205. Fitment was perfect. Worked with GFB BOV bolts as well.
Haven't completely got it installed but the staff at ETS were extremely helpful and communcative. Quality is top notch. Not exactly going in a GD STi but a STi swapped GF Impreza wagon instead. It fits very nicely with no problems and I look forward to seeing the performance once the car is tuned.
I installed this on my 02 wrx in preparation for a bigger turbo soon, fitment was perfect, tight but clears everything without an issue, has performed great without a single issue since installed

Is a tune required for this intercooler since it does have higher cooling capabilities then the stock
A tune is not required to run the intercooler, but you will not be able to take full advantage of the additional cooling capabilities without one. We do recommend tuning the car for optimal performance!

What does it take to install a STI Intercooler on a WRX?
To install our Top Mount Intercooler on a WRX you will need to follow the steps listed below. This intercooler is not plug and play for the WRX like it is for the STI.

How's does the Sti splitter line up with this TMIC? Is the grimmspeed splitter fit comparable to the OEM?
We designed our intercooler to be a direct repalcement to the factory intercooler. This means any shroud that works with the factory intercooler should work with our top mount intercooler.

Hi does the stencil come printed on the intercooler if you choose the stencil option or does it come separate and we put it on ourselves?
The logo comes painted on the intercooler if you choose the stencil option.

Is the red anodizing the same colour as the red intake manifold in an sti?
It is a bit darker and has more shine to it than the red powder coating.

Will this fit a 2005 wrx?
It requires STI Y-Pipe and Mounting brackets but yes it can be made to fit.

What is this intercooler rated for?
They are good for about 450whp-500whp, but due to being a top mount they do suffer from heat soak a tad quicker then an FMIC would.
